July 4th Update

Well Kara and Ian went to New Orleans for Kara's work. Kara's parents, Bert & Judy, met them down there and took care of Ian while Kara was at her conference. Unfortunately, Kara didn't bring back any pictures, so I have nothing from the trip to post. :( Ian's sleeping pretty much through the night now. Sometimes he'll wake up once in the morning around 3-4am, but usually he sleeps until 6-7am. Getting him to go to sleep in the first place not so easy. He fights his naps and going to bed at night. Sometimes it takes us 2-3 hours to get him to finally go to sleep at night and often the only thing that finally knocks him out is nursing (Kara's own brand of Nyquil). He's making more sounds now, not just crying, and he's learning to grasp. He hasn't managed to roll over yet but he's working out his legs, lifting them high in the air every chance he gets. He had his 3 month check up a few weeks back and he's now almost 13 lbs and 24". He's grown out of some of his clothes now (that was quick!) and is now wearing more of the 3-6 months (and even 6+ months) clothes.
We have taken him out more. He's gone to parties, out shopping, and to restaurants and he's been pretty well behaved and calm each time. Except for his fussiness when it comes time to sleep he's really a wonderful, and wonderfully behaved, baby boy.
Lastly, we finally hired a contractor to remodel the basement and get the new guest room and basement bathroom done. Since Ian has taken over the old guest room right now there's none, so getting the basement redone is a priority so we can have guests over, like my father, Cor, who is planning on coming out later this summer. The basement should turn out really nice with a spa shower, complete with steam!
That's it for now.
